This is a set of six BM1 Dining Side Chairs, designed by Borge Mogensen for Haarby C.M. Madsen in Denmark in 1958. These examples date to the 1960s, and the listed price includes the set of six. They feature solid oak frames that have been treated with soap and wax to enable their resistance to moisture or stains, and they retain their original handwoven seagrass cord seats.
Each chair measures 17.72 inches deep, 20.08 inches wide, and 29.93 inches high. They have a seat height of 17.33 inches. We have left these pieces in their original condition, and their oak frames have a pronounced, patinated grain. The original seagrass cord seats are in good condition, having some spots and areas of fading. The frames have had some light professional repairs done, only evident when looking closely. The table that is photographed to illustrate how the chairs appear when in place is not included. Overall, these chairs are in very good condition with some wear. Please see photos.
