These new delicious, trailing, thornless blackberries ripen one to two weeks before any other thornless blackberries! Enjoy prolific crops of these unusually sweet berries in July, up to two weeks before any other thornless blackberries are ripe. Developed by Dr. Chad E. Finn, of the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Corvallis, OR, and released by the Oregon State University (OSU).
Because these flavorful fruits ripen so early, they escape much of the problems from new pests like the spotted wing drosophila fruit fly. They are also well-suited for cool summer and maritime growers. The trailing canes benefit from trellising.
