This is an LCW Chair, initially designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1946. It is an early Evans Herman Miller example, dating to c. 1948. The chair is composed of Calico Ash, and its age has only contributed to its beauty. The finish has become smooth from use producing a satiny sheen. The flowing grain of the wood has become more distinguished. The piece is upholstered in an attractive fur on hide.
The chair measures 25.25 inches deep, 22.25 inches wide, and 27.4 inches high. It has a seat height of 15.25 inches. We have intentionally left this piece in patinated condition. This piece does show wear consistent with previous use, including minor scuffs and scratches. Overall, the chair is in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
