Panda Corys

Panda Corys are one of our favorite Corydoras species here at Flip! They’re easy to recognize by their bold black markings around their eyes and on their tail, which is how they got the “panda” name from. We usually ship these fish around 1.5 inches and they can grow to about 2.5 inches as adults.

Panda Cories are very peaceful and do best when kept in groups of 6 or more. Like most Corydoras, they spend most of their time at the bottom of the tank scavenging for food. A soft sand substrate is ideal to protect their bellies since they like to sift through substrate while they search for food.

They’re generally shrimp compatible and can be kept with dwarf shrimp, especially larger colonies. Very small shrimplets could occasionally be eaten if the fish are underfed, but overall they’re a great choice for community and shrimp tanks.

We feed our Panda Corys a wide variety of foods including finely ground NorthFin flake foods, small NorthFin pellets (veggie and community), frozen foods, live baby brine shrimp, and occasionally blackworms.
