The Reef Octopus VarioS Circulation Pump features a detachable controller with mount, a high-quality ceramic shaft with propeller bearing to reduce wear and tear, and the latest variable speed flow technology for refined control, enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and safer operations.
Unlike the vast majority of circulation pumps which use alternating current (AC), the VarioS pump boasts several key advantages over traditional AC pumps like greater energy efficiency safer low voltage operation, and producing less heat per volume of flow.
>>> Now the aquarist can have full control of the water flow through their sump, reactors, filters, or closed loop systems!!!
REFINED CONTROL
In addition to allowing the pump to run at 5 different speeds, which is pretty standard for a DC pump, the new VarioS Controller takes the pump to a new level featuring:
Includes: VarioS pump, controller, float switch, power supply, output and input union for plumbing direct PVC, versatile stepped barb output fitting for flex tubing, and protective intake screen.
The VarioS pump has a true slow startup where the pump slowly ramps up from zero RPM to the full preset speed over a period of approximately 10 seconds.
The pump and controller are connected via a waterproof 3-conductor union. The detachable controller will allow for a simple waterproof union. The volute can rotate to change the pump's output orientation in 90-degree intervals, meaning users can output water vertically (up or down) as well as horizontally.
Output Thread Size: 1in slip PVC
Inlet Union Size: 1in slip PVC

Max Head Height: 13ft*
*results will vary depending on aquarium setup
Note: THIS IS NOT A PRESSURE-RATED PUMP. This pump is not ideal for second-floor applications or to feed Beckett or downdraft skimmers where consistent pressure is necessary.
The Octo VarioS 10 circulation pump is the latest water pump from the prestige line of VarioS Controllable DC Pumps from Reef Octopus. Much like other VarioS pumps, the VarioS 10 features a detachable controller, a high-quality ceramic shaft and bearings to reduce wear and tear, and the latest variable speed flow technology for refined control, enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and safer operations.
Unlike the vast majority of circulation pumps, which use alternating current (AC), the VarioS 10 pump boasts several key advantages over traditional AC pumps, namely, higher energy efficiency, safer operations at a working voltage of 36V, less heat produced with every volume of water flow, and most notably, the variable speed control to adjust the flow rate. Best of all, the VarioS 10 is a pressure-rated pump capable of an impressive head height of nine meters, which is nearly thirty feet. Great for multi-level installations or pressure-rated feed pump applications.
With the bespoke controller, users have full control over the flow rates by selecting 90 preset speed settings, indicated by its built-in display panel, which also allows the user to view both the wattage and RPM of the pump in real-time. A 15 or 60-minute feed mode can also be engaged or disengaged with the push of a button.
In addition, a rotatable volute allows the user to adjust the output orientation horizontally or vertically, making this pump very versatile in its applications.
Under normal usage, our entire range VarioS pumps has an expected lifespan/product life expectancy of 10 years.
