Introducing the Solarmeter Model 6.5R Reptile UV Index Meter, an enhanced version of the iconic Model 6.5, now featuring user-friendly graphics tailored for reptile care. Trusted by experts and breeders globally, this updated model retains the same reliable performance and specifications as its predecessor. The refreshed design includes a Ferguson Zone chart on the meter for immediate and precise UV index interpretation, making it simpler for reptile enthusiasts to maintain optimal UV levels.

How to Use the Meter
Point the sensor window on the top of the meter toward the UV source and press the button on the front to take a reading. For consistent results, record the distance from the UV source during measurement. The meter operates on a 9V battery, functional down to 6.5V. When the display dims below this voltage, it’s time to replace the battery. Under normal use, the battery should last around 2 years.

Guidelines for Using Solarmeter® UV Radiometer
Always wear protective eyewear when measuring UV lamps (wrap-around glasses are recommended). Ensure lamps are fully warmed up (at least 15 minutes) before taking readings.
