This is an original Emeco Chair, Model 1104, initially designed in 1944 for the U.S. Navy. This example dates to 2025. The chair was built by hand from recycled aluminum in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and was powder-coated in a glossy black. Aluminum is an excellent material for seating, as it is lightweight and is also naturally fireproof. The seat on this chair is made of solid walnut.
This chair measures 20 inches long, 16.5 inches wide, and 34 inches high. The seat height is 18 inches. The piece is stamped on the back of its seat. There may be a few light scratches, but overall, this chair is in very good condition. Please see photos.
